Bob Yearsley who is sadley missed (on RIGHT) was a time keeper to thousands of riders, A coach who helped many young riders and was a mentor of David Barnes british GHS 10 mile champion, Bob would help any cyclist and would never take a penny for his efforts. He was a touring rider, a founding member and life member to the Brereton Wheelers.

Above: Barry Collis - The best road rider ever in Brereton Wheelers colours, he won the Midland Division Road Race Championship and many other road races he was one of only five first category road men in the club the others being - Dave Kenny - Dave Barnes - Dave Birch (all Dave's!) and of course the great all rounder Garry Foord. Barry Collis was a rider of pure all-round quality and demonstrated this when he led the Brereton track team to win the Midlands Divisional Team Pursuit Track Championship.

Left: Taff Yardley - top class all rounder, the first Brereton Wheelers produced rider to beat the hour for 25 miles seen here starting a Boxing day 10 in freezing conditions. Taff has probably been the most important member of the club since he joined the club in 1960. He was a member of the team that won the Midlands Divisional Team Pursuit Track Championship. Taff has held most posts within the club and was club Secretary and Chairman for many years and now with the assistance of his wife Sheila acts as time-keeper for club events.

Right: Reg Mobberley often called 'Mr. Brereton Wheelers' he helped form the club in 1948. Seen here taking a well earned drink at 170 miles on the Western springs by-pass during the Oldbury 12 hour race.

Above: Garry Foord, joined Brereton Wheelers as a schoolboy with his brother Paul who were both members of the squad coached by Tony Johnson Regional Coach for the British Cycling Federation and sponsored by Cannock Chase Sports Council. Garry went on to represent Great Britain at cyclo cross before turning full-time professional cyclist. He won the world-class Mammoth Mountain Bike Race which was part of the massive Grundig Series. Garry also represented Great Britain in the Olympics, eventually becoming the top off-road coach in British Cycling. Garry still coaches professionally today and also owns a very successful cycle shop.
